The Lovely Lydia's Blog for June 2020

Lydia, what's with the foot fetish?

I know. That's supposed to be a thing for the blokes, right? But then I'm attracted to the same things most blokes are, so take that into consideration, I suppose.

Truth is, I've always been attracted to pretty feet. I like high, curved arches, perhaps for the same reason I like full, round curves on the rest of a woman's body. I like long fleshy toes that give me plenty to suck on. I love painted and well manicured toenails -- red polish is a particular favourite. I also enjoy seeing toe rings and anklets and other accessories that doll things up a bit.

I've read up on this topic, because I've always been curious about why people have fetishes, and what a foot fetish in particular suggests about a person, especially a lesbian. One of the more interesting theories I've come across is that feet and genitals are mapped closely together in the brain, so that some people can feel sexual pleasure when someone, say, rubs their feet. It's as if the brain wiring overlaps. Other theories say that certain people are simply born with a predisposition to develop fetishes -- rather like being born gay. Either one to me is far more sensible than Freud's suggestion that those who like feet see them as phallic symbols. Sorry, Sigmund. I'm not into penis.

At least I'm not alone. A study in Men's Health once showed that 11 percent of lesbians and bisexual women have a foot fetish. Not that I've met too many of them, mind. Most of the women I've been romantic with see my fetish as a very peculiar quirk, and more than a few have flat-out said no when I've asked if I could suck their toes. Tragically, I can count on one hand the number willing to suck my toes. Mostly, I've had to settle for painting their toenails (a huge turn-on in itself!) or giving them gifts of toe rings and anklets -- which were greeted with a wide range of reactions. And generally, the most I can get out of the deal is a nice foot rub, which, granted, is quite erotic all in itself!

But I've noticed something over the years, and it's a very curious thing: I've actually been with more women willing to give and receive rim jobs -- another one of my fetishes -- than I have with those willing to engage in footplay. (I won't even get into the depressingly low number of partners who've let me indulge my BDSM dominatrix kink.)

Anyway, I find it fascinating just how many types of foot fetishes there are. Some get off on the smell of dirty feet. Some like to sniff or lick or have feet smashed into their face. Some like being walked on barefoot. Some like being penetrated by toes. For me, I think it's mainly the aesthetic beauty of the female foot and the suckability of a pretty set of toes that turn me on. Just a glimpse of my very first girlfriend's bare foot peeking out from under the sheet was what first told me I had this particular fetish, after all. I was surprised at how excited I got just from rubbing her feet. I didn't work up the courage to actually pop any toes into my mouth until my second girlfriend -- and, happily for me, not only did she enjoy it, but she reciprocated! And so began a lifelong preoccupation with women's feet and toes.

I love seeing women walk around in bare feet, especially outdoors in the grass or the sand. On the flip side, certain types of footwear can turn me on as well. Flats, tennis shoes, Mary Janes, sandals, cowboy boots, work boots, go-go boots... yeah, I especially have a thing for boots.

Oh, and socks are nice too, especially cotton socks of all lengths, from anklets to knee-highs to thigh-highs. I'm not so much into nylon stockings, and I'm most definitely not into fishnets and garter belts. I think that type of thing is more for the male gaze, honestly. I find them cheap and trashy more than hot and sexy.

Same goes for high heels. Sorry, lads, but this is one area where you and I probably differ. Heels do absolutely nothing for me, and I usually end up laughing at lesbian photo shoots where the women are wearing ridiculous spiked heels as they roll around otherwise naked with each other. That seems to me such a male-orientated fantasy. I don't know of any women who would wear those in most any situation, let alone in the bedroom. But then I can't walk in heels without falling flat on my face, so perhaps I just hold an unfair bias against them.

In any event, this is why you'll occasionally see photos on this blog of women sucking other women's toes. That really turns my crank and always has.
